So, I have been getting the oil light of death.
There is a marvellous write up here: 1.8t Oil Pressure Survival Guide and troubleshooting DIY
It is for the A4 so there are a couple of things not quite right.
Anyway, I have tried to drop the sump on this biatch. I read a lot of posts on the net, but none seem to cover the B5 incarnation of the APU longitudinal.
B6 APU seems to have the snub mount bracket on the sump. That would be nice. Mine has it on the fan mount. I had to remove the nose cut, remove the AC tensioner and then remove the bracket that holds the snub mount. Holy fark.
I have 12 of the 20 or so sump bolts out, turbo drain off and the engine supported by a crane. I am just about to lift the chassis and drop the front suspension member to get at the rest of the sump.
Can anybody tell me if I am doing it wrong?
