    Question Automatic Boot Opener

Three times I have had my boot open as I have walked away from my CC. When I put the keys in my pocket the remote boot button has been pressed and opened it. I am now in the habit of not putting the keys in my pocket until I am along way from the car and always looking back at it. Glad she's nice to have a last lingering lustful look at as I leave her.

I was telling my wife and daughter tonight about this as we parked in King William Street tonight and just as I finished one of them said is that like your car, seeing a BB R36 parked by us. I looked and saw nobody at the car so I walked around and closed their boot for them.

Anyone know if there is a way to make the boot button less prone to premature release?

I'll look into it next week at work. There's probably a coding change that will provide an alternative solution.

I do hear what you're saying. Our new Lancer requires a double press of the boot button on the remote to open it.

I find that quite odd to say the least...

Although I did not tick this option on my wagon, when I had my sedan you had to press and hold the boot release (middle button) on the key fob. If its doing this whilst putting in your pocket, I am suprised it is not unlocking / locking your vehicle also.

Please keep us up to date on the fix for this.

With the R36, you need to press and hold the boot release button on the key fob. I am not 100% sure, but if the car is locked, you can't open the boot with the key fob until you unlock it. I could be wrong about that, though. Mayeb there is a code for this?

You can still open the boot with the key fob even with the car locked. Pressing the boot button on the key fob will still open the boot. You can also lock the car even with the doors open, it will auto lock them when closed.
