anyone using 245 series in Passat C6

I've been told that the 235/35/19 are odd size tyres and hence pricey. However, 245/35/19 are cheaper. Downsize is 245 are too big for Passat c6.

Anyone have experience with these larger tyres?

Can't say for certain, but it's not enough of a difference to imply it won't fit. Your speedo will read slower than actual speed though.

Technically, the optimum wheel size for both 235/35 R19 and 245/35 R19 tyres is 19 x 8.5 though if you have lowered your car I can't say for sure they won't rub. 255/35 R19 will also fit 19 x 8.5 though the optimum fit is 19 x 9.0 in case you were wondering.

And when you say it's for a Passat C6, you mean a Passat V6, right?

The Passat R GT is fitted with 19 x 9.5 Avus wheels wearing 245/35 R19 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's. Car is modified somewhat, though (hi-res pics).

Doesn't really solve your problem, but certainly looks the business!

I get rubbing on the back inner carper guard with 235's. I also had to do a mod inside the rear bumper / quarter panel as the rubbing there was bad (on metal) until I bent the tab out of the way. I would not use 245's. I have a wagon by the way...
