But it would be the MANUFACTURER you're taking on and not the dealers or anyone local. I wonder who would run out of money to fight it in court first?

Not all, but it seems like quite a lot. It hurts to say but I don't think I'll buy another - as much as I love them

Thing is dubbed, all manufacturers have these issues. You've unfortunately been one of the unlucky ones this time.

Correct Rocket36. Thats a risk with any legal action. Hopefully manufacturers value their brand and market position and may be open to comming to the party with some kind of arrangement to help the customer out.

Yes I was disappointed as well but again thank god it was VW and they got on it without if's or buts, mate of mine has Nissan Xtrail that also had big engine problems and he had to fight with them and it took forever to sort it out under warranty.I don't want to even think what would happen if it was Korean built car.
Would I buy another one... probably yes because of customer satisfaction(they are looking after me most service centers charge you for loan car)and it is a very nice, comfortable and economical car that when its running properly goes bloody well and what else is out there Korean,Japanese,American or Aussie built car(taxis) most of those are built in Korea or Thailand.
This Golf TDI 1.6 that i'm driving at the moment is a very nice little car ,much better than Jetta 2.0 FSI, pulls better and much more comfortable
