I have the factory alarm with sensors, I can not comment on an aftermarket one. However there should be plenty of brands out there to chose from.

Hello All,
After a long 4 months wait, 5 by the time I get delivery (delivery delay, long story, very frustrating...) I will finally have my baby!!!
I am planning to have an aftermarket alarm installed, dealer option is pretty pricey. Since this is my first Passat, I really have no idea on this topic so I thought to put it out there and see if anyone have recently installed one.
Couple of questions I have on this:-
1. Type/brand suitable for the Passat (with tilt sensor).
2. Issues (if any) with the car's electronics.
3. Does the tilt sensor have a habit of going off when parked on a hill.
4. And lastly, cost.
Any other suggestions/recommendations and other information are appreciated.

Just wondering why you would want the alarm?
Because with the latest cars with immobilizers and rolling codes etc. they cant really hotwire them, so your main concern is with theives breaking in and pinching a phone or laptop etc.
In which case the alarm will only really help if the alarm sounds and someone close by stops the thief - i reckon most will just ignore the sound.
Or i guess someone with a tray truck and a pre-order for a Passat?
My neighbour had 2 commode HSV's stolen like that, the insurance company told him to get a different type.
had a passat tdi. now mb c class.
Yeah I agree with tryingavw. A vehicle tracker would be a better investment than an alarm. How many people actually react to alarms? None that I've ever seen.
