They are known "chepaies" but JOM coilovers from veedubmachine.co.uk

In all honesty, speak to Lorenz, he has plenty of options to suit the Passat, support the local guy (he wasnt doing this when I got mine) and dont be put off by "coilovers are too hard, cheap coilovers are nasty nasty nasty). If oyu expect to lap eastern creek in 50 seconds flat and for it to ride like a Rolls, then yeah oyu will be disappointed. You get what you pay for, but they are not bad at all

    Link to Lorenz?

Im just looking for a drop, honestly not overly fussed about the ride, though a nice ride wouldn't be too shabby.

well being young and stupid im after roughly a 3" drop all round,

i looked at springs but the most i could get was like 1" which to me seems pointless, doesnt look much better and lose practicality

Well you said it yourself D How do you lose practicality with 1 inch but not with 3 inches? If you want any sort of decent handling forget about a 3 inch drop! For a combination of looks, practicality AND decent handling you can't really go lower than 1.5 - 2 inches.

There is an ECSTuning group buy being arranged at the moment.
ECStuning do Blistein and FK coilovers which are quality equipment.
Adjustable height and dampening to allow you the "look" but also allow comfort and drivability when you need it.

Might want to look into that.

Interesting to see what they have out there that we don't even get.

Trying to find the H&R Coilovers but they aren't on the ECS site.
Seems it's Blistein or FK automotive only from them, although they should be able to get some in before the group buy is finished if you email them.

I've had lowered springs and coilovers in a couple of my cars and can honestly say I'd go coilovers everytime. Even the cheap and cheerful coilovers dont ride too bad (nothing compared to KW's but still better than springs!) and you have the freedom to adjust the height as you please.

Been there with springs NOT being happy with the height and the ride quality, it frustrated me. Do yourself a favour, get the coilovers, and slam it as much or as little as you want!

joel, i'm all for cheap coilovers.

if you just want to dump the **** out of the ca, it's cheap and it'll actually be more comfortable than if you cut your springs in half...

whilst i don't doubt the value of a good set of shocks and springs, the boy wants to lower it... WHY WONT YOU LET HIM LIVE?!!
