80000 km Average service price for passat 2.0 litre TDI

Our car is due for the 80000 service.. As we paid $1137 for the 60000.. what should we expect to pay for this one coming up..

Yikes! You need to stop going to the stealership and find a good independent vw specialist. Our 60k TDI service was less than $500!

Our 3 year warranty ran out last month and we paid for extended warranty... Am I allowed to go to another dealer?

Mate you can go were ever you want, just make sure they have VAG experience there are plenty of good one around and they wont charge the earth.
Check the independant ones in the service section.

I second that. I have read the extended warranty brochure. There is no such restriction. You just need to service the car according to the service schedule.

Since you are in Melbourne, someone in the forum recommended Volkspower, Audvolks or Volkwerke.

Unless the extended warranty purchased wasn't the VGA one, but a dealership one. I mean, why are we talking about 80k service anyway? It's 60, 75, 90 if we're talking the factory service schedule and VGA extended warranty. I have seen some of the dealer extended warranties revert to 10k/6 month servicing schedules... dodgy

I third that. The only service I did with the dealer was 7,500 km (about 4 months in). After that I went to a VW independent. During the 3 yr warranty period only two things went wrong (park brake switch and window regulator). Both were fixed by the dealer without any dramas. Dealers will do nothing to dispel the incorrect notion that servicing elsewhere voids your warranty. Not surprising. Servicing at the dealer will damage your disposable income!

Well got the 75000km service done yesterday and it cost $780... We had to get a new battery $271 , and we had to pay $142 for a new brake light switch..the extended warranty covered just about every switch except that one.. They said they would go halves with us as they agreed it should be covered.
So I guess the service cost around $370, which is not too bad..
