I had the exact same problem when I bought mine from a Toyota dealership, except it was the 105,000 service. I can't tell you what the 60K service involves at the moment because my car at the dealership now with yet another problem... Good luck!
hi guys ,i picked up my new, second hand 2008 passat wagon (125tdi) 2 days ago and i am wrapped ,lovely car. i purchased it from a ford dealer and asked them if they had serviced the car. they told me they had and i was happy with that. when i arrived home i checked the book and that told me that all they did was a oil and filter change, the book said they should have changed the fuel filter as well but they missed that. could you tell me what else they should have done. i got a three year warranty with the vehicle but have to get it serviced by them at 199$. but if they arnt going to do it by the book then whats the piont. regards paul

Budget, they should have also replaced the pollen filter, and replaced the oil and filter in the DSG transmission.
Admittedly, the DSG service is best left to a dealer, or VW specialist.

I recall reading somewhere that the DSG fluid is around $50 per litre and the capacity is 6 litres. That's $300 bucks right there.
I've not verified this however as my car is still a long way off 60,000, thankfully.
Cheers,

$199 is pretty fair for oil + filter + fluid levels providing they are using the correct 504.00 oil & an OEM spec oil filter (bet you they don't). It's cheaper than VW would charge.
The list of what needs doing is in the service book but IIRC, you should also do:
pollen filter every 2 yrs - it will be making compost by then. I do mine at 12 months.
brake fluid every 2 years (but most dealerships work on 30,000km intervals)
Air filter every 60,000km (I do mine at 45,000km).
DSG is 75,000km but I think most people have worked out that 60,000km is good insurance.
Have a read of what your dealership 3yr warranty covers & the required service intervals. From my experience they want you back every 6 months & the warranty has a lot of exceptions. Your big worries should be DSG, AC compressor, injectors & associated wiring loom, Diesel Particulate Filter.

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
Air filter is at 45K, and the DSG service is at 60K.
At servicing, the re-fill capacity for the DSG is around 4-5L.
