If you're asking if the R32 has L/C, it does.
Foot on the brake, shift into S, disable ESP, other foot on the throttle and it should build the revs to 3000rpm. Foot off the brake and bye bye.
Can someone put me out of my misery and confirm that L/C is not enabled on the 3.2?
I had a go a while back, but couldn't work out if i was doing it right.
Is L/C on the R36? I was told clutch(es) could not handle the grunt, seeings that (unlike Golf GTI) 4WD would make the clutch take all the load ie. No wheelspin.
P.S. My cars in the shop at the moment (don't ask!), so can't experiment with L/C atm...

Dont think they do, My old mans one doesnt like it when you try.
the R36 definitely has launch control. i have one and it is even in the manual
I wonder if there is a mod to enable it.
Does anyone know if you can get at the DSG Mechatronics unit thru VagCom or something?

yeah i had the same problem. It is located in the additional section at the back of the books specifically relating to the R36. Cant recall the exact page. i will get it out of the car and let you know.
It does have the same proceedure as the R32. basically disable ESP, hold foot on brake pedal, accelerator pedal, wait till revs build to preset revs and let got of brakes
OK boys, you're really startin to make me jealous now!
It looks like LC is definitely not on my car, so tell me, how much fun is it?
I've found some talk about LC 'upgrades' on the forums. VWofAmerica has put a tech service bulletin out for some Jetta's, Golfs that enables LC.
Good news indeed! At least its something flashable. Apparently you just have to have the right 'module' in the mechatronics unit that will take the flash.
Haven't found anything on the Passat though. DOH! I'm pretty sure its because the Passat in the US didn't come out with DSG, except for R36 now, of course (which has it anyway).
Maybe we have to start lobbying VWofAustralia for a mod?
Just because the car's heavier than the R32 is no excuse for not having it available. The drivetrain would still be under exactly the same stress as the R32 (since they have same torque), the beast would just accelerate slower.
So come on VW, give me my launch control!
