2009 R36 Wagon water leak

Hi,

Have water dripping down window and out of the boot lid inside plastic shell....is this a common fault issue...?

My mate had this issue on his 2012 Alltrack so yeah its the rubber that causes the fault

so was the fix a replacement of the full seal that runs around the tail of the actual car (not the tailgate...)? i can hear water sloshing in the tailgate as it lifts open
