Hi,
Had trouble re-gassing my 2001 2.8 v6 Passat. The gauges when gassing aren't balancing. The bloke doing it said my thermal expansion (TX) valve will be blocked. Looking all over the Internet, they start talking about Orifice Tubes etc and it's all US spec cars. Getting confused. Any body know which one the Aussie cars have and exactly where it's located? Cheers
Thanks for the reply buddy. Mine looks different to that. The inlet through the firewall is on the passenger side. And the fittings to gas the aircon are in a simalar place to your diagram but they bend very quickly to turn to goto the passenger side, there doesn't seem to be a coupling and straight piece for the filter to be inside of.
Yeah, no doubt it'll be different to the diagram, but by my reckoning, it will be in that pipe somewhere between the charge port and the evaporator. It could well be in the plenum where the battery, ECU, etc lives.
