Tell him you only want the 125TDI & won't pay the extra. You'll still get the 130TDI as that's what is produced now. Lease company is just milking you
Well the lease on my Jetta is up end of June so I ordered the 125TDI Passat, just got a call from my lease company asking me if I would like the 130TDI model for an extra $500. I had no idea that the 130TDI even existed anyway thats what Im going with and have been told that my order will arrive late July, very excited

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
<boggle> You're being screwed, mate! The 130 doesn't cost extra!
What brad said, you can prolly tell them to fuhgeddaboutit - and you'll still end up with the 130, if it's built post Jan 13. May even want to call VW Aus and let them know about such dodgy practices by some of their dealers.
Agree with the others. I was told I was getting a 125 not the 130 and i sure didn't get hit up for any extra. TBH i don't even know if the dealer realises I got a 130 instead of the 125 as nothing was mentioned at hand over.

I've just noticed that all 2013 alltracks listed on car sales are listed as 13.5. Mine arrives at the dealer next week and I'm told it's a 2013. All signs are pointing to 13.5; 130kw!
Well the 130 was introduced for 4Motion DSG Passats (which includes the Alltrack of course) in January '13, however the .5 I had gathered is the annual VW "Modellpflege" (trans. "model care", meaning minor mid-year upgrades and spec changes). Which always seems to be around calender week 22 or so. We'd still be a bit away from that.

Ah I see. Close but no cigar I guess. Well, still wrapped with the 130. Thanks Marakai
Well, after reading high and low on the German forums, it gets more complicated: for one, I there seems to be no distinction between the ".0" and ".5" model years. A new model year is introduced at CW 22 of the previous year.
So, model year 2013 was introduced in CW 22/1012! *Then* comes the Modellpflege in CW 45, which in Germany received no .5 but here we seem to refer to it that way. So, that would mean you were right: we're in MY 2013.5. 2014 is coming in CW22. 2014.5 is in CW45.
What I don't get is how that works with the expected upgrade to B8. Is that going to be MY 2015 and so will come in CW 22? <shrug>
The update to 130kW seems to have been independent of all these. If you look, then it was staggered from manual 2WD models some time in last November (2012) to finally having been introduced for DSG 4WD/4Motion models this January (2013).
As for CW22 (MY 2014) changes, what I found was (for the German market, who knows what shows up here?):
- RNS510 switch to SSD ex factory
- additional colour "fortuna red"
- "professional" packet, dunno what's in that. there's also a "business" packet in Germany
That's about all that's posted right now. There was some speculation that the switch to SSD had already happened in Dec 2012, because the RNS510 "felt faster", but that didn't seem to be the case when some people looked inside. Looks like I'll still have to have a go at the instructions in this very forum on how to to the change over myself. What VW was thinking to use PATA is beyond me...
Anyone aware of VW AUS offering an upgrade to the 130kw 380nm from the 125kw ? Surely it is just an ECU upgrade ?
