Wow. Clip mods looks great. Really have me thinking now.
Does anyone know if lowering a car will void future warranty claims?
Cheers

Damnthe car could certainly do with a lower stance
I'm still waiting to hear from various manufacturers if its okay to use lowering springs with the adaptive chassis control. None of them have got back to me yet

Interesting that there is now a sports option OS that has 15mm lowered, although 15mm not quite enough IMO, 25mm would be better. But as transporter said, if anything did go wrong with suspension, steering, driveshafts, CV etc, they would probably argue the aftermarket suspension was the cause. If your waterpump packed it in though, I doubt they could argue the sus was the cause.
Not sure why I'm even bothering to do this but just can't help myself!
Have been checking out the remaps available for the 125. Oettinger do one (although only listed for the MK6 125TDI Golf at the moment), and Custom Code list one for the passat.
Bit of a difference in specs though:
Oettinger: 143kW and 420Nm
Custom Code: 150-170kW and a massive 460-475Nm (this is just for Phase 1 tune, not Phase 2)
Now 170kW and 475Nm is very, very appealing - especially with just a remap.
I had the Oettinger map in the Tiguan and didn't like the power delivery, so had it replaced with APR which I really liked! But that was a TSI. I think Oettinger are conservative (probably for good reason), but not sure if I wouldn't be disappointed. Haven't checked out pricing on any yet either.
Only problem is maybe I should be concerned at the potential 470Kw (if that, or near that, is reality) with the DSG. At the end of the day, it's the torque and my right foot that will do the damage, not the power.
I think you mean 470NM not 470kw, but to answer your question, 02E DSG in the B6 (and mk5 golf) is electronically limited to 350NM torque. I don't know much about Passats but I think B7 is just a facelift meaning you don't have the new gen DSG? I don't know if the new DSG is also limited to 350NM but there definitely would be some sort of cap because with stock tune and clutch packs it really can't handle too much.
Either way, you won't have access to the extra torque without a DSG remap. Also I believe 170kw and 475NM torque from Custom Code would be without a DPF and with minor mods, from stock it will be closer to the 150kw end of things - regardless, Custom Code does very nice tunes for the TDI, I would know
I should add that with a CC DSG remap the DSG torque limit is increased to 550NM with (claimed) no safety concerns. This is similar with HPA which increases it to 500NM - CC does look like it's more willing to push the boundaries, but that's not necessarily a bad thing if you know what you're doing.
