    DSG Flappy paddle wheels

I have now installed 2 of these and whilst it is a straightforward process, you do need the correct tools and access to VCDS to complete the job.

I already have a day job, but in the spirit of providing a service to the VWW community, have spoken to a supplier in Europe this morning and may be able to do a few of these (after hours) for about $600 supplied, installed & coded (depending on what the silly AUD does of course) in South East QLD.

Cost normally is USD599 (for the flat bottomed wheel with DSG paddles) + shipping (about USD80) + installation (up to $200 I've heard), so quite a good deal IMO.

I may try to keep at least 1 wheel on hand to be able to help out at short notice should it be requried, otherwise could be up to 2 weeks to get the wheel in from Europe.

For that sort of money, I reckon the wheel is worth it for sure. Anyone that's driven a GTI knows how they feel, so even forgetting the flappy paddles, it just makes for a nicer drive IMO.

I was pleased Sharkie was able to do the install for me, I'm sure I would have been stuffing around for ages otherwise - and of course as I don't have access to VCDS I would then had to have found and paid someone to make those changes.

excellent, thanks revivor - saves me having to wire in the resistors. Have you tried them in the front park lights?

John the interior is beautiful! I must find a chance to come and check it out one day. I had a mk6 GTI with DSG to use over the weekend - agree with your points on the steering wheel!
thanks Lams, appreciate your thoughts. The H&R spring and shock combo is a bargain! I'm guessing it lowered it by about 30-40mm?

Damn it though, I was NOT going to do too many performance mods to the passat, and now I'm again looking at suspension! Someone please remind me that I bought the TDI to tame my driving habits!

Good to see you are doing bits and bobs to make it your own mate.
Can we get you to the happy laps at Lakeside in December?

    hey john,
this caddy is my 2nd TDI - and it's on KW Variant 2s
    perhaps we should stop talking.
Now Johan is tempting me with that steering wheel...

I still have access to the Passat, we gave it to someone who works for an organisation that runs orphanages in China. But the car currently lives at Kallangar so it's a bit difficult to get a hold of it!
