Thumbs down 12 month Service Experience in Brisbane

Soooooo, thought I would try an alternate Dealer after my less than ideal (purchase and Service) experiences with the Dealer I bought my Passat from. Last week I went to the new VW Dealer at Kedron and had my 12 months service and decided to get a wheel alignment done whilst I was there.

What was meant to take 2hours turned into two days, 3 wheels where damaged (1 really bad) and the wheel alignment was outsourced cause the service team couldnt do it and/or their wheel alignment machine broke down.

When I finally picked the car up on the second day the inside was covered in greasy finger prints and I insisted that the really damaged wheel was repaired. After essentially been called a liar, they agreed. I picked up the repaired wheel yesterday, and whilst it doesnt look like the others, its as good as its going to be - using it as a spare.

I will not be returning to this dealer....I dont know why this dealer cant treat their customers cars with respect and courtesy. I accept its not a $150k car, but as a customer I still expect my car to be returned to me without being covered in greasy fingerprints and without damage.

Are there any non VW Branded Businesses in Brisbane who are authorised Service Agents for VW?

Yes, there are a 2 that i know of in Brisbane, there may be more.
Mike Webber runs Presitge and Performance at Coorparoo
Jimmy (JMac forum member) runs Alba European on the Southside

Shame that you had such issues.
I am dreading taking my car in for a factory service.
Might skip it all together and just go to Jimmy or Mike.

Thanks for the details...at the end of the day, if these smaller private guys value their customers, can do the work and it all cool with VW, then I wont be going back to a VW Dealer for a service. They just dont care, they say they do, but they dont.

I will contact VW today and confirm that these guys are authorised to do the servicing and its all cool.

    .
i reckon the problem is they have too many staff and cannot control the process well enough. the good guys get trained up and then go out on their own to setup.

They do care though- especially about their bottom line profits!

I can't recommend Jmac highly enough, he has all my service work from now on. Really knows his stuff, gives a damn, and it's great to be able to have a heart to heart with the mechanic who worked on your car post service. A WACK cheaper too, even mobile.

I have a faulty engine speed sensor and am driving back to my purchasing dealer this week, with an obviously messed with car, so I'll let you know how the alternate service provider log book works out. My last three services have been with alternates.

I sure did and as I expected, they said to take it back to the dealer. I responded that I will a third time but if not repaired i will esculate to VWA till i find someone who can authorise this. I simply dont have the time to invest in this...this is why i buy a new car every three years!
