    WTB O2J box

Hi guys, upgrading g'box on my 20vt. After an o2j from a mk4 gti.

Subsequently I'd also love the linkages and shifter cage.

    Willing to travel, no problems.

I have an 02A (CDA code) with a peloquin LSD in it. Same ratios as the mk4 gti 02Js and it has the 3.67FD ratio which is better than the 3.89FD that are more common (especially for mk1 wheel diameters). Will bolt straight up to the 20vt.

Hi bud. I was after the 02j due to it being mated to a turbo motor, so I'd assume it's able to handle the extra power. What sort of $ are you after, and why are you not using it?

The 02J gearbox has exactly the same strength as an 02A. They have identical bearings, input and pinion shafts, gears, diff etc. In fact most of the parts on an 02J have an “02A” part number. You can even inter-change the selector tower and choose which type of shifter you want to use, earlier or later model.

I will be putting up a for sale ad for this gearbox soon, but pm me if interested in more details. It has about 5000km on it since full rebuild (all new bearings plus brand new Peloquin LSD installed). There is nothing wrong with it, it is in very good condition, I just decided to build a new gearbox with a more motorsport-oriented, 1.5 way clutch-type Kaaz LSD.

There are lots of mk4 GTI boxes failing at the moment, too many years of having the turbo motor being pushed through them.
I like the sound of the O2A myself.
