WTB MK6 GTI Rear Valance

Hey all,

Looking for a stock Golf GTI rear valance ( MK6 4 door 2010 model, hope thats all the info you need ).
Just bought a GTI exhaust off someone here on the forums and need the rear valance.

Anyone, someone please. It's borderline sinful having an exhaust sitting in the garage and not installing it because of a valance.

Very very interesting.

I'll be very interested in hearing how this goes. I'd be interested in doing a similar thing to my 118TSI Cabriolet with a GTI twin pipe but wasn't ever sure if the pipe itself would fit or not and then if the valance/diffuser panel was a direct swap in part. (Maybe just the rear diffuser with twin pipes??)

In any case I'd love to see it fit... which may inspire me down that path too

On a side note, it's probably worth asking your local dealership or parts place what that part is worth new and/or ringing around the wreckers.

The GTI valance is a different shape to the regular Golf. So you will need the GTI rear bumper too.

Speaking from experience, you need a GTI rear bumper and diffuser as Lucas mentioned, plus you need to extend the GTI exhaust around 600mm in the mid section (straight pipe). There is also a difference in pipe sizing you need to address that too

Thanks for the suggestion hawk, I'll try and ring a few wreckers this week, for the rear valance AND bumper.

Guess I should have done a bit more research on this. Didn't think I'd have to change the rear bar, or add on piping into the exhaust to make it fit.

Either way I'll do my best to document the various bits and put together a "guide" if you can call it that for anyone in the future thinking of doing something silly like this.

I did the change on my TDI.

Changed the rear bumper (in the US the TDI and GTI bumpers are the same, here and in europe they're slightly different, the valance opening is not as wide), got the valance from the dealers (was about ~$100 afaik), and got a stock GTI exhaust/muffler (not the resonator though) fitted at an exhaust shop, cost me ~$100 for that. They cut off the old one (after the DPFs - must make sure that they don't touch any of that stuff), and fitted the new one with some new pipe.

Looks great imo. Bit of stuffing around though, to be honest.

Thanks for looking up that guide for me Moda. Thanks to Lucas_R & Koji as well.
All I gotta do is find a GTI bumper now. I have a bad feeling the exhaust will be in the garage for a while longer lol.
But I'm sure in the end it'll be worth it.
