WTB Dash Clusters - Mk 5,6,7 Golf, 2nd gen New Beetle

    G'day all,

As the title says, I'm looking for a dash cluster (speedo, tacho etc) from the following cars:

Golf Mk5 (Got this covered now)
    Golf Mk6
    Golf Mk7
    New Beetle (2nd generation).

Would prefer GTI or R in the Golfs but any equipment level is OK.

Prefer working and undamaged but not important.

If anyone is wrecking any of these models and has the dash clusters for sale please drop me a PM and let me know what you're asking price wise.

My company needs to manufacture some prototype parts for an upcoming product release, and it's much easier to pull apart and 3D scan a spare cluster than risk destroying a working cluster from one of our cars.

Thanks for the offer - I have just arranged to buy a R32 cluster from another forum member so I'm covered for the Mk5.

Still need a Mk6 or Mk7 if you've got either of those.

Still particularly looking for a current gen Beetle cluster if anyone is wrecking.

Here's a quick shot of a product we're working on - a custom MFD upgrade as test fitted to a Mk5 R32 cluster.

The idea is to at least duplicate all the data presented on the normal MFD as well as the 8 warning lights that normally sit above the half height display, so yes DSG gear will be included.

Someone on this forum previously posted the CANBus codes for the gear selections so that makes that part a bit easier for us.

If only you did the same for a MK1 cluster.

Oh wait, we're happy with just a tacho.

    Cheers

I didn't realise there was anything much electric in a Mk1 anyway

In seriousness we have looked at options for digital instrumentation in early cars that don't have CANBus data to capture, but it'd have to be a full cluster swap with custom electronics rather than an add-on like we're building for the later cars.

Unless XZibit walks through the door tomorrow with a wad of MTV cash I don't think there's much call for that type of thing in the old skool community.
