    WTB: 1.8ltr engine

    Hi!

Im currently restoring my MK1 golf and im looking for a replacement engine!

A 1.8 out of a mk2/3, SEAT, audi etc would be great! With or without trans (preferably with).

Please let me know if you have something suitable to sell!

    Kind regards

    Johnny

THere is a 1.8 GTI engine and 5 speed trans at Jolly's Dandenong. The engine and box was fairly intact when I was there yesterday.

Na mate im in Brizzy!! Im sure there is Mount kits out there, pm Matt from Camden Gti im sure he will know all the part numbers etc, I know they are out there. He has done his scirocco , With the ADR its non turbo so you have to work out what you want to use in terms of carbies, injection etc,. Let me know really need this engine away.

ADR is a great swap. My wife's Passat has a ADR (non turbo) and it's quicker than my 2.0 litre MK2.

    Hi Jmac.

Thanks again for the offer! But I think im going to stick with an 8v swap for now. It seems a bit easier for a beginner and I am pretty new to it all. Thanks so much though.

Sports racxer, im sure it is! Sounds real nice.

1.8 in a MK1 is still a good swap, lots more torque. You find yourself turning at intersections in 3rd instead of 2nd and leaving it in top gear when going up hills.

    Cheers
