Yeah i'd suspected it may be that in the past, had disassembled, cleaned and regreased everything with no lasting effects
No joy after adjusting the handbrake cables either which seems to be in spec

I have a second set of front brakes with A1-RM pads for my polo. Driving past concrete dividers on the highway with the windows down, I was surprised to find I had a herd of mice with me.
After a week of it, I swapped in the other discs and Remsa pads. This was maybe 4 weeks after intial fit, I got them for a big day at the track. So I fitted them the week before and ran them in, then did the track day. Which was a full day where they performed perfectly. After that I was commuting for 2 weeks or more. The second week was when the mice rolled into town.
I was surprised to have to the squeaking, as I had a set of A1-RM in my S3 for donkeys years with no noise at all. I suspect that they need to be used hard and often, as in the Polo if I did 4-5 hard stops from 100, the noise went away for a good while.
If you are in traffic all the time I don't think they are the best pad to use for the road.

yeah i've heard of a few mixed cases previously with the a1rm's but nothing confirmed
i've tried bedding in the brakes a few times in the past, doesn't seem to get rid of the mouse stuck in there just that familiar smell of friction material
picked up some brembo pads cheap anyway, still waiting to find some rotors to machine and slap on and hope for the best
