anyone happen to have a set of front and rear oem rotors in a decent thickness? need something to tie me over temporarily
OEM are about $175ea new.
OEM pads are around $145 for the set.
more just for troubleshooting, have been using a set of rda's for the last year but it developed some mechanical squeal and goes away when i apply the handbrake lightly
have swapped out everything bar the disc and pads, didn't want to buy new ones just yet if they're not the problem

More than likely that combination of discs and pads that are squealing.
That's the first place you'd look, to be honest.
Take the pads out and chamfer all the edges a little.
The brakes on my Polo make horrible noises and that's always made it go away. I am just too idle to do it so close to replacing them.
umai; started a week after installing the rda rotors and qfm pads, had already tossed the old gear so i couldn't go back to them to test
didn't seem to affect performance or wear for the matter so i'd just left it, had to upgrade bushes and replace old bits anyway so they were done
didn't see any items rubbing and it's been performing fine, just annoying with the windows down
h100vw; yep already done, have battled brake squeal on my old evo before so i'd done all the tricks i could think of
yep a1rm, won't be getting them again
i can understand noise when you apply braking pressure, not when you have none on it
Understood about not being able to go back to the old set.
Those rear calipers can sometimes cause the pads to drag. Just make sure the slide pins are not seized or tight, and give them a thin smear of molybdonem (grey) grease.
