I'm pretty sure the K04 off a Mk6 Gold R will bolt onto a Mk5 GTI (as they are the same engine), however it won't fit a Mk6 with the gen2 EA888.

Correct, at least with the FSI mkv's - not sure about the tsi's. I got mine off an R, going in within the next fortnight hopefully!
