Ive always wanted to see a modern day golf 6/7 1.4T go into an old golf... it'd be a hoot

The irony being that the original MK1 engine would be more reliable!

It's noticeable, trust me. There's no way I'd go back to a 1.8 in my MK2.

Cross flow is your way to go for good N/A power.

Look at the 1.8 8v from a cordoba, 20v 1.8 non turbo from an audi or get the favored 16v (KR, PL or ABF)

I'm running an 8v RV (mk2 gti head) and a mk3 2.0L bottom end with twin weber 40 IDFs and a 272 cam. Car dyno'd just under 70kw at the wheels and the engine cost the better part of $500 to build. Keep it simple and go the 8v route. I've also got a 297 cam that might be available if you're interested

    You want an interesting engine?

Full of expensive bits. Hate to think what it's worth and I doubt it's new owner would part with it.

I think the new owner needs to run that rather than the 1.8T
