Yeah the Passat apparently has the same gearbox and mechatronics code. I'm guessing the 125kw Jetta has the same too.

I'd be interested to know what you think about this.. These are the PDF print outs from ETKA for my vehicle. If you look at the gearbox sheet you will see my transmission, KDA with a listed part number of 02E 300 050 T 00X. If you double click that part number in ETKA it says, "dropped, please use as replacement:" 02E 300 051 TX 012. You will see in that sheet that 02E 300 051 TX is also listed further down as transmission code LQT (from passat). I'm pretty sure this means that I can use a LQT transmission?

    I've found a LQT for $2200.

There's a chance that the part fits both. When I had my ETKA running you could enter a part number and cross ref all the vehicles that it would fit. Have you tried your 051 T box in that search?

I found the function you are talking about, the same part numbers are used in various cars including Touran, Passat, A3 etc with varying transmission codes (KPS, LQT, KMW). Its hard to know which are cross compatible or if the "color code" (e.g. 00X, 00B, 012) matters

Its possible that the ratios are the same and the VW software in the Mechatronics is the difference. Maybe to account for differences in vehicle weight or something?

You'd need someone in the know at VW to decipher those numbers. Even just in the same model year, I have seen different softcodings in the same gearbox part number.

I've got a Golf7 DSG. Guessing though it might not be suitable with the TDI pumping too many torques for this unit to handle though.
    Golf mk7 parts for sale.
