I picked up an EvcX from Autobarn yesterday and installed it this morning. Autobarn price-matched the Repco special ($299), even though Repco don't have the X201 (Arteon model) available to order on their website. Autobarn only had one X201 in stock on their website, which also happened to be one that a Porsche driver had returned because he didn't know how to install/operate it
Install took a little longer than I'd planned (~1.5 hours, with testing), but I was meticulous and added cloth tape + foam to head off any potential rattles. Started on U1 setting, then tried U3 and U5, finally settled on U4 (for now). Didn't notice much on U1, U3 was a small change, U5 was good but maybe a little more aggressive than I like for daily driving. U4 seems good for now. Initial impressions are good, certainly improves throttle response. I'll drive it around a bit longer and see how it goes longer term. Haven't tried the throttle lock yet - plan to test that out soon..
How/where have people installed their head units? I just ran the USBC cable up into the little driver's glovebox below the dash. I can easily connect/disconnect it there. I'll probably end up disconnecting the head unit and tucking the cable away anyway once set on a driving level.
