Apparently when i asked dealers/ techs thay said vw wants to remove all the physical buttons. If u saw new touareg, most of physical buttons are gone. U can still turn it off going thru infotainment system under vehicle setting.

Regarding the threads reference to late warning for forward collision system,Had a couple of calls from vw this week advising there’s a recall for AEB system and software update required... travelling for work presently so won’t get around to it for another week- I wonder if it’s related...

My Arteon is with VW service this morning actually getting two recalls addressed. One is the replacement of some front bumper clips and the other is the replacement of the driver belt tensioner. The technician said there is no software update needed.

    Thanks Rek.

Can you please post back here with any extra information you get? Like the wording/codes they use on the paperwork.

Did you prompt for the recalls due to an issue or was it just part of your yearly/15k service?

Sure. The jobs done were recall code 9635 and 63A7. I had mixed messages from the service center because when it was time to pick up the car they actually did do a software update.

    Recall 9635
    - Carried our software update on lane assist

    Recall 63A7
    - Replaced clip
    - Replaced rivet split

I received a call from VW regarding the recall. My car is only 3 weeks old so that may have been a factor.

On another note... the technicians unplugged my dash cam and I didn't realise until this morning. I've never experienced this before. I just hope they didn't have too much fun on their joy ride.

Thanks Rek. Mine is only a month or so old as well, but I haven't received any recall notice. Did they explain what the lane assist update change is?

Technician said it had to do with correctly identifying cars in neighboring lanes.

Thanks, this might fix the false positives that were the original premise of this thread.

I've got a new quirk that I have not attempted to replicate. When using launch control with the road slightly wet during very light rain the gear change from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd feel jaulty.

Hard to explain, it didn't feel like any loss of power or traction but more like a kick forward. My hypothesis is that wheels were slightly slipping and the millisecond gear shift was enough time to stop slipping. What do you think?

TCS engaging perhaps? I know that it has to be off for LC to work, but it might not be totally off......to provide a bit of a safety net. Some systems do this. They are never really off, just have their sensitivity turned way down.
Anything pop up on the dash?
