    LED Gear Shifter

I replaced the standard gear shift knob with a more modern version. It's the same as my wife's MY22 Tiguan R-Line shifter, except with perforated leather trim.

It was really difficult to get the old one out for some reason - maybe I was just being too careful.. followed a couple of videos, which made it look like it'd just glide right off once loosened.

There are many options on Amazon, this is the one I ordered: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09X74WSJL
FWIW - I'd previously bought a cheaper ebay alternative, but the quality was crap (plastic/rubber instead of leather, hard plastic ridges at front, graphics were all wrong)..

    Very nice!

I was tempted by one of the cheaper versions but ended up buying replacement covers for the OEM shift knob instead. I wasn't sure about the quality of the cheapos and your experience suggests I was right be cautious. However, yours looks quite decent indeed.
