Ignition upgrades - worth it or not?

I've heard mixed responses on whether upgrading coil packs and/or spark plugs are worthwhile. It's a (relatively) cheap upgrade, but does it provide any benefit? - even if it's just smoother idling in traffic...

Seems the main options for an Arteon are RS3 or APR coil packs and RS7 or NGK Racing plugs.

not as worthwhile as upgrading to BBK for street driving.
