    Battery warranty, covered?

Hi all, just wandering if battery is covered with the vehicle warranty? Car is 4 years old and still left with one year of factory warranty, car could not start this morning and battery indicator on a battery itself was black .
Also, can they be charged ?

I contacted VW assist during the warranty period for a failing battery. It was replaced without question by the road side mechanic.
That was back in the old days of 3 year warranties, if I remember correctly it was about a month or two prior to it ending.
After that I purchased a CTEK battery charger and ensure I connect each car up a few times per year to condition the batteries.
