If anyone is interested, I just got an email from Brighton VW - white ex-demo Arteon with sound and style pack for $58990. No idea on km though.

That's a decent price - I wonder if it's this one with >5,500km? 2017 Volkswagen Arteon 206TSI R-Line 3H Auto 4MOTION MY18

If I wasn't planning to buy a Passat for my wife soon, it'd be tempting to get one. I think it'll be another year or two by the time I replace my R36 now - hopefully there's a V6 option by then (or better still, an electric sports coupe).

lol! some dealers are still trying to charge $75-80K for them, even for demonstrators.

that's the one - I'm guessing you could still lower that price a bit more.

Looks like the rrp of new arteons has been reduced by vw Australia
eg in Sydney drive away is $68990 - with sound and style pack. Brand new MY18. Metallic extra.

few for sale now just below 60k, compared to nearly 80k at launch.

did vw over step the mark on their perceived price segment? Could be argued yes.

its a great car, extremely well equipped and I definitely would like one, but considering you can't really option the interior/wheels (aside from s&s pack), not option out the rline fittout, or even maybe a have second engine/drivetrain option, this method may simplify stock management, but not quite be what people at this level of purchase are after.

This isn't too shocking. The car is definitely worth $70k.

I think a lot of people will think "why not get a Passat?", In my case there were 2 huge factors:

The Passat isn't wide enough
The Arteon looks less like a family car and more Grand Turismo

We went to the dealer to buy a Tigaun and came home with this.

I would say end of financial year also has something to do with prices falling at the moment. Dealers wanting to flush stock and go for a push to round out the year. Full RRP on the VW website is still nearly $80k with all options. Also $68990 with S&S but no metallic is still up there in terms of price. Mine was $67900 with S&S and metallic back in December.

If it assists anyone else cruising these threads looking for EOFY deals on Arteon- I got mine this week (Manganese grey, S&S package + sunroof) $60K driveaway with 2800km on the clock...(demo in Melbourne) - looks like there's a few demo's about presently...

Post up pricing / options including any corporate discount, etc that you have negotiated on your new Arteon.

Current driveaway price is $68,990 including the sound and style package - offer until 30 June 2018.
