Make sure you take note of your findings and take it to a VW dealership and get them to check it. When I was helping our friend here in Brisbane, I also found this is a historic issue with some Golf models aswell. So if you go into a VW dealership with the issue, it won't be the first time it's happened.

Most certainly will be telling them about the calibration issue when it's in for the first service (plus some minor rattles that I hear from time to time from the windows and passenger door with certain bass notes). Given it's not an isolated issue by any measure, I'm hoping they've got a fix. It's a really nice car and it'd be a shame for small things like this to ruin the enjoyment. Will post back with some feedback after the service (12,000 km still to go )

I have had the car for a month and each time ive come to a stop the start-stop system does not activate and it would show an error message on the infotainment screen “vehicle power consumption is high”. This error occurs even with the radio and A/C off.
Today I was determined to see what it would take for it to activate or if it was even possible. Well it took 1 hour and 20 minutes of spirited sport mode driving around the local industrial park for it to final activate for the first time since ive had the car. In contrast my CX5 activates at the end of my street after initial car start up.
Surely this is not operating as it should? Interested to hear how long it takes to activate for other owners?

About 3 mins for me. Once the coolant is up to temp it goes. Freaking annoying when I forget to deactivate it. I've tried to make it part of my "get in the car" routine. Turn engine on, deactivate stop/start.

hahaha Yep. I'm trying to make my car a 3 button push start. Start, Engine stop/start, e-brake. I always forget at least 1 when I go to drive off...

My electronic park brake always automatically disengaged when I touch the accelerator. Has that changed now?

My e-brake also self disengages when I press the accelerator.

Had another issue today when driving. Was driving slowly up a carpark ramp and all of a sudden there was a thud sound and I lost gear, engine revved up as it was like i was in neutral and I started to roll back. There was a warning light flashing but by the time I could make out what the symbol was it disappeared. This has now happened twice in similar situation.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it caused by going slow up hills?

Do you have Auto Hold enabled? I don't. I hate it. It's also not good for a teenager trying to learn to drive.

I don't use autohold (unless I'm in stop/start traffic and I'm getting tired of holding the brake), but even if I do, the e-brake will disengage anyway. So say... autohold = on, e-brake = on - even if I touch the accelerator it will all disengage and the car will move off the mark no problem. So there's no need to proactively disable the e-brake before moving - unlike a mechanical hand brake where driving off will just drag the brakes.

I haven't had any issues in the Arteon with the DSG. I did have an issue in the old Golf R where if you were slowing down and turning (like turning left at a Give Way), and you didn't quite come to a stop but you almost did, and mid-turn you hit the accelerator, the gearbox would rev out like it was in neutral. This was a known issue with the 6sp DSG at the time. It only happened to me once or twice in the whole time I owned the car, but others had it quite often.

The Arteon has been rock solid for me thus far.
