I just checked mine and my MY18 doesn’t have the seal.
My noobness doesn’t know how to post a quick pic.
Hey Guys,
Picked up my Manganese Grey Arteon last night with S&S etc.. has anyone else had issues with activating the wireless charging in the front compartment in front of the shifter..?
my S9+ wont fit in the compartment and neither would my partners IPhone X.. is this a design flaw?
Thanks,
My iPhone XR doesn’t fit that compartment either. Such an oversight. I actually don’t think the Aus spec version gets the wireless charging too.
I'm pretty sure the Arteon doesn't have wireless charging. This is one thing I tossed up between when I was looking at the MY17 Superb vs the MY18 Arteon. The MY17 Skoda did have wireless charging, but it was then removed from the MY18 model.
Overseas the Arteon has wireless charging, but it wasn't delivered in Australia (at least in the MY18 model). I also just looked up the current Arteon spec sheet, and it makes no mention of wireless charging. If it did have it - you would think it would be a feature they promote.
If you look closely at the logo on that rubber mat, you'll probably see that it's just a phone logo, and not a "Qi" logo for wireless charging.

That's honestly upsetting to hear.. it would have been a great item to have in their top spec lux saloon...my mate has the 7.5 R and bought a D-Dock for the console.
I've reached to see if they make a dock for our cars..good little add on.
I think it was removed from the MY18 Skoda Superb due to a regulatory requirement and the wireless charging pad also boosted mobile signal. This is why it was in the MY17 model, and removed in the MY18 models, then subsequently removed from the MY17 models on the next dealership visit.
*EDIT* - just found it.

Retailers are to stop delivery of all new vehicles containing certain optional phone preparations to customers with immediate effect.
These phone preparation options normally include a component which amplifies mobile phone signals. Regrettably, due to technical and regulatory constraints, we are unable to provide this function at this moment in time.
All other functions of these options, such as wireless charging and dual phone Bluetooth connection will continue to be fully operational without any restrictions."
And it was never done in Australia because it's against the ACMA rules.

Can I operate a mobile phone repeater?
You can only operate a mobile phone repeater if you have been authorised by a carrier.
A person must not operate or possess (for the purpose of operation) a radiocommunications device, unless that person is authorised under either a spectrum, apparatus or class licence.
A mobile phone repeater operates within apparatus or spectrum licensed radiofrequency bands-licensed to mobile phone carriers. As such, to operate this device, you will require carrier permission under a third party arrangement.
It is illegal to operate a repeater without carrier permission because this device has the capacity to cause substantial interference to the mobile network. This can occur because the device is not coordinated with other radiocommunications infrastructure in the mobile network.
It is an offence under the Radiocommunications Act 1992 (the Act) to operate an unlicensed radiocommunications device, or possess this device for the purpose of operation. A person found guilty of this offence may be imprisoned for two years for each offence. A body corporate may receive a penalty of over $300,000 (1,500 penalty units) per offence (sections 46 and 47 of the Act). Other penalties may apply, such as the interference offence provisions at Part 4.2 of the Act.

So this isn't actually in the car any more? Even though it's supposed to be?
