Yeah. It's pathetic. With the indents and raised sections, they are very good. The thing I think trumps the old buttons is their swipe ability (swipe up to raise cruise speed by 10kph, swipe to change audio volume). I hired a car a couple of months ago with buttons, and it seemed archaic. I think of buttons like an old Nokia phone, compared to a touchscreen on a smartphone.
Such a retrograde step, VW. Shame the motoring journalists like to create sensational comments &/or haven't had time to become familiar with the system.
