I have GPS as well but obviously it’s not effecting it at this point.
They should be able to pull this time data from GPS.
Same issue as everyone else, Manual gets over written.
I've set it New Caledonia (GMT+11), see what happens when I start it in the morning.

that’s what I was doing. It changed New Caledonian a time to GMT+9 and once more showed me the wrong time. If that happens to you, do as NZTiguan suggests - manually correct the time. That seems to have worked for me. Manual setting, New Caledonia time zone and a manual adjustment of the actual hours on the clock.Originally Posted by AJW;[URL="tel:1340270"
I have an Audi which automatically updates for Daylight Saving, location when driving across borders, so obviously using GPS.
Given they are both under VAG, they have the technical know-how to fix. Maybe VW Hans should call Audi Hans for some tips.

I seem to have the clock working using a temporary fix. I set time to Manual, then set the Time Zone to "-12" hours, then entered the time manually.
I hope that works for other mk8 owners. One downside is the clock can't ensure the time is accurate as it can't Automatically use the GPS to keep the time correct. A car clock isn't intended to be a chronograph, so it shouldn't be a massive concern. Perhaps just check the time is accurate, perhaps every two or three months.
Might be same old daylight saving issue as described in this thread.

Yeah. Same old problem they could/should have fixed. My son-in-law seemed pretty smug that his Corolla can get daylight saving right, but not VW.

I have the same issue, VW dealers have no clue on how to fix this fault.
To say I am happy with my MK8 GTI is an understatement.
The Infotainment system is a crap and had a mind of its own.
They don't care!
