    Wait for 7 speed GTI?

Is there much difference between the 6 and 7 speed that Europe gets? I've got a 2018 GTI that's coming up on 100,000km and wanting to trade it in towards a newer model.

Have a revo stage 2 on it and will probably try out APR on the new one, just wondering if it's worth waiting for a 7 speed launch here?

IMHO unless you spend a lot of time on the freeway at 100+KPH then you don't need any more than 6 gears. And even with 6 gears the RPM at freeway speed is only just over 2000rpm which is fine.

I haven't driven the recent Polo GTI's, but I have a 6 speed Mk7 Golf GTI, and have driven the newer 7 speed that's in the updated Mk7.5 GTI - and I have to say I prefer my gearbox. The ratios in the 6 speed are really well suited to the car and the typical 50, 60 and 80kph speed limits we typically have. Also the 7 speed loses the typical DSG fart on upshift which is disappointing.

It's my daily driver and I spend about an hour on the freeway every day (bar weekends).

My 2023 6spd Polo GTI seems to have lost the fart already - wastes fuel apparently.
