    Volkswagen tuning - results not bull***** APR Stage 3 GTX kit for Golf R

    Are you tired of your tuners excuses?

    I was going to quote a few tuners great quotes of why your car doesn't perform as advertised, but some were so funny, they were unbelievable. Dyno's not showing gains, adaptation times of a week or more, bad fuel, try another file, we need to data log to give you a bespoke tune.......

    We recently delivered out 10th new GTX APR Stage 3 turbo kit for the S3 / Golf R. In the last week, two customers took their own cars to the quarter mile (I don't believe either are forum members).

    These are production stage 3 kits. Production software, Standard VW Diverter valves & intercooler piping, stock boost control (no external boost control required).

    One in Brisbane to Willowbank Raceway, the ther in Sydney to WSID.

    Both cars full weight, nothing removed, 98 ron fuel, stock street tyres. Both were DSG's with DSG software installed.

    Anyway, here are the results:

    Probably a daily drive also...
    2012.1 Skoda Octavia VRS DSG Wagon - Carbonio cold air intake and pipe - HPA Motorsports BBK 355mm rotors 6 pot calipers
    APR Stage II ECU - APR 3" exhaust down pipe & high flow catalyst
    APR/HP Roll bars - Eibach springs and Bilstien shocks
    Supaloy lower control arms - Enkei 18*8 Wheels

    Ran it on the dyno today, with the new production stage 3 98 ron file, and just for fun, we put in some race fuel (Sunoco 260 GT+) - you can see the difference!

    The 3 lines are

    Thin Green = stock
    Red = 98 Ron
    Thick Green = 104 ron

    Pat, only one way to find out!

    I think there was a nice mix of available traction, so this next step will probably cause a traction issue with stock tyres.

    Our stage 4, even with street legal drag tyres on it, will wheel spin through the first 3 gears. You can see this from the great 60 foot times on the two cars run on stock tyres are near identical to the stage 4 numbers.

    We hope to take it to the drags next week with race gas & see how it runs

    Nice work with these cars, 10s might just be to hard for stock tyres. Makes my car just to slow now....
