    Tiguan TSI K04 upgrade results

We have recently carried out several K04 Conversions on new Tiguan TSI's & have finally gotten around to publishing the results.

The vehicle in the test starts life as a 155kw highline.

In uncorrected data at the front hubs, the 155 makes 115kw & 279nm of torque.

    The upgrade consists of:

    APR TSi K04 kit,
    APR Intercooler
    Carbonio Intake
    Modified Stock downpipe

The dyno numbers before & after are as follows:

You can see we have gains of over 139nm & over 88kw's

This equates on the quarter mile to easy low 13 second 1/4 mile times @ 105MPH - repeatable at full weight & on 98 Ron fuel.

Good gains on this one. Im assuming this car is a DSG (DQ500 7 speed) based on the 1/4 mile time?

That car looks a lot like a 132 TSI / Pacific. 155's have a lot more chrome bling everywhere.

The dyno plots are of a 155 that had the conversion, the pics are of a 132 Pacific with the conversion also!

Hey Guy, I got some news about APR soon going to release new K04 version 3 tune for TSI engines. Are we able to get these new tunes in Australia ? They also mentioned about 3 Bar Map sensor requirement for new V3 tunes.

Also have you encountered any exhaust valve floating issues due to weak valve springs (which leads to high RPM misfire ) with these K04 Tigs? Thanks.

No word for AU release on those files yet. IF they are compatible with AU software, it will have to be tested in house (Brisbane) before release.

We have not seen any valve float issues with any CCZ based engine (even 3 600+ HP ones we have built with stock cylinder heads).

So if you are reading US forums, please don't confuse forum readers as there engines are not the same as ours at all.

Good to hear we don't have these value floating issues in Australian cars due to weak exhaust valve springs.

have plenty of K04 TSI cars close by when we get the go ahead. Good thing is it won't take you long to swap over when it gets released!
