I'm interested to know your thoughts on where you think this vehicle "fits". Obviously if someone wants outright fastest the Golf R is still the winner.

Weight and aero are always going to be limiting factors with any "hot" SUV....

Actually tigger73, this vehicle made for the people who have mid life crisis, hahaha.. It is where this one exactly going to fit .. For the people who need for speed but also have to lug around the family and worry about the economy as well..for the people just like us

Anyway congrats Guy for creating the World fastest Tiguan !! It is a real eye opener and someday going to be a great sleeper.(when those APR stickers are removed). Like to know any plans on getting it down to 11 seconds in the future

Ramee the difference between what you and I have done is that we kind of fell into modding a car that we bought for family transport rather than buying a car with the purpose of building a street legal race car.

So my point is if you wanted to build a street legal race car for under $75k, would you buy a Tiguan as a base vehicle?

And I too would like to see the Tig run an 11sec 1/4 mile. Then I think you could say that it was in true "super car" territory.

Yeah you are right in that sense tigger73, I would think twice building a race car out of the Tig, not just under 75k but any amount of money But I would not use a falcodore for that either.

But if you look at the current trend of sport SUVs like Porsche Maccan or, Range rover sport or BMW M series, they are all hybrid of hi performance sports cars and family SUVs. But all of them are way above 75k price tag. What HP have shown here is that you can have similer or better performance vehicle with a budget under 75k. For example I found two so called performance SUVs ,a Cayenne S and a SQ5 who wanted to go against my humble Tiguan and ended up behind it , but I only have a K04.

I think best way to achieve 11 sec is to do a engine transplant, probably turbocharged V6 engine out from a R32 will do it.

I'm pretty sure the SuperTig will actually do an 11s as is. As impressive as the figures are from Motor I know the APR cars have all been quicker than that at Queensland Raceway.

Yeah I know the Hot Tuner set-up was compromise with tyre pressures etc set for track/ hot lap and not so much for 1/4 mile or dyno

We just want to see the time slip and video

I'm sure it will run into the 11's, hopefully we will get it to the drag strip shortly. Race gas makes a big difference, so that should push it there
