This is our new baby & my current daily drive. TSI Motor, DQ500 DSG, the vehicle actually has a better weight split than a Golf R - an awesome platform, only handicapped by some extra weight.
Thanks also to Avdo for assisting in sourcing the wide wheel arch kit (Legend!).
Some images below of Suspension testing, wheel choice etc as we go.
We are running VWR Tracksport suspension with the upper camber mounts and linear springs. We have specced spring rates & damping based upon the corner weights, and our experence with the Golf R chassis. Initial lowering is 90mm rear & 80mm front. This keeps the basic geometry of the control arms within an acceptable range to allow a bump steer free, road warrior.
We will be developing in partnership with SuperPro, sway bar sets, alloy control arms & bushing kits.
The car will also get two sets of wheels from Volkswagen Racing, 19"x 8.5" for the street, & 18" x 9" for the track. A Volkswagen Racing brake upgrade will be joining it shortly.
We will be running our own DSG Software: DQ 500, and will be running a very similar engine configuration to our Golf GTI Stage 3+
Awesome Guy! Almost makes me want to buy another Tiguan ...... but with a big red baby on the way its not happening .... the big red baby will spend some time with you though to make up for it

looks like it's going to be an epic build! I've always liked the idea of a Tiguan being modded. Wheels and drop are perfect, maybe colour code the black textured exterior parts?
Jeezus man, 275's, wow!!!!!!

275" is the max recommended for 8.5"s (it varies manufacturer to manufacturer) but certainly no wider - they sit nicely on the rims. It's off for wheel alignment this morning, but with the ET45 offset, they are not even close to sticking outside the guards.
We have the ability for 3+ degrees of negative camber in the front with the top mounts, and more adjustment with our alloy arms and adjustable ball joints.
The track rims we are running are 18" x 9's
