Thread: New Project - MK7 GTI

  1. #11

Forgot to add - the inclusion of the 3 modes of traction control allow you to have much more fun - ESC Sport mode makes a nice little difference to ESP intervention.

Are both the GTI and TDI the same Pure White colour? The GTI looks whiter with a hint of icy blue.

Both the same - C9A - Pure white. TDI is probably just dirty

Some update pics - now fitted with the GTI specific VWR springs, 19" wheels & brakes, as well as our sway bars = its a nice, tight ride.

Have dyno figures - car is only stock (engine) at this stage - for fun we overlayed them with a stock MK6 GTI for fun. Difference is very interesting - will upload soon.

So here is the curves on the lie detector (hub dyno) - more than 60nm more torque throughout (earlier) and the power is way earlier (same peak as MK6) - you can see where VW switch it off.

You can see why a MK7 is immediately faster. The MK7 is the thicker lines.

Noob question - what does the line thickness represent?

Nothing, just a way of differentiating between the two cars.
