I also came across this site with part numbers but they are all different to the one you mentioned. I'm guessing they are older.

I don't have much faith in the dealer acknowledging the problem.
I've spoken to Guy and read Lazarus post #24, but would like to hear feedback from others preferably with R stage 2 tune.
For anyone contemplating a DSG tune, this is my observation. Harding Performance did the tune last week and I have driven about 200ks since.
I wasn't interested in the increased LC RPM, but was looking for an inprovement in sport mode behaviour and less unwanted early up changes.
I can report that the tune has transformed the way the DSG behaves. Before, it felt like it was in some incredible hurry to get into 6th gear. Many, if not all, of you will know what I'm talking about. Now, sport mode can be used in normal urban driving, 5th at just under 60K/hr.
The up changes in S or D are faster and the down changes are more in keeping with what the car is doing re spped/load etc.
It is so good, I find that I am not using the paddles as much as before the tune. Well worth the money.
Interesting - I'm thinking of a DSG remap - would be nice (at a price)
The only thing I'm not warming to is the 4,500 rpm launch control
That may be great for the 4WD Golf R but it will result in big wheel spin for my FWD Octavia
Currently I have control over the launch RPM via the throttle - I tend to use 2,400~2,600 rpm

Got my recall letter for the mechatronics electrolysis issue for my MY10 Golf 118TSI. I've had it replaced under warranty before (~September 2012), immediately after which I installed your software for it. Much better but I still get clunks and shudders at low speeds now and then, so I won't say no to a free upgrade. I'd normally just switch to ECU program one and use security lockout although I've heard they'll still detect it these days with their latest diagnostics system. Just wondering though if I need to restore my original DSG software before hand, or if I'll need to reload it after the replacement. Basically what do I need to know?
Also last time I was at a dealer I raised a little DSG issue (the amount of time needed to shift gears is way higher than the ~250ms in the loan cars - I can push the tiptronic gear lever up and then touch the ceiling before it change gear, whereas in the loan car it changes before I let go of the lever). The technician said he could install a different mechatronics software version but if I wasn't running genuine software there was a good chance of 'bricking' the car, so I didn't bother continuing with that one. Any truth in this?

We have already had a few cars with our DSG software in for the "recall" - no need to do anything from our experience. obviously a new mech will lose our software, so you have to arrange with your local dealer to have it re-installed. never heard of anyone "bricking" a mechatronics, but I'm sure it possible![]()
