I have a 2011 Tiguan DSG. I plan on getting stage 1. My question is can this be applied by cable (lacking a better term) or will the ECU need to be taken out. I have read elsewhere that some of the new ECU's have different encryption requiring some vehicles having the APR tune to have the ECU removed.

You will have to excuse me I am new to car modding. Thanks, and hopefully a new APR addict.

Hi Ral2dam,

There is no way of telling without the ECU part number & version.

Either way, any of our Sydney dealers are equipped to do it on the spot either method, and they have all done many this way, so no need to be concerned there. Just make sure you book an hour - 2 hours for the job & you will be covered.

Guy_H, thanks for the quick reply. I'll be booking in tomorrow morning. If the ECU is taken out (or however it done), will this be detectable to VW should I need a warranty repair.
