2 main benefits of the R8 coil packs:

    1) they're red so they will make your car go faster (engine bling)
    2) they have a stronger coil than the stock coil packs. Stock coils are prone to failure with tuned cars. Coil pack failure can be quite inconvenient as it can (worst case) cause the ECU to shut down a cylinder = limp mode, total loss of power, car runs really rough. If you're out of town or more than 500m from a dealer this is a total pain.

Certainly cheap insurance and at worst case something nice to look at under the hood (once you remove the engine cover).

No problems. Looks like I may be organising another shipment in the not too distant future - let me know what you find.

    Amarok Coils

Looks like the Amarok uses the same packs. I'd be willing to try a set.

I've had a number of requests for coil packs since the last GB sold out so I'm going to organise another shipment.

I'm looking to place the order by the end of the week so if anyone wants to get any other items with their order (e.g. spark plugs) you'll need to arrange this with me and make payment prior to the order being placed with ECS. As long as it's small/light you'll just be paying for the parts price - if you're getting coil packs the shipping is already paid for

Would these technically be able to provide a better fuel consumption due to better fuel ignition? I havnt really got ny head around the difference between coil packs and spark plugs lol

I doubt that it would be measurable.

    +1.

Most people who buy these are doing it because they have tuned cars and the stock coil packs are prone to failure. These people are probably not that concerned about fuel economy

Coil pack generates the spark/voltage. Spark plug delivers it to the cylinder.

You do get a stronger/bigger spark from the R8 coils. Not sure if this is going to aid in better combustion. But if you fail to create a spark this is where you get real issues.
