Wow they are cool. makes it look more like a mk2 with the flares imo. Did you find these at orange wreckers?
I thought I had a sale lined up for these, but it hasn't happened yet, so they're up here now.
I had them donated to the '$hitbox Rally MK1 golf' but they are too good, and too unique to throw on the car only to be destroyed on the Birdsville track.
I've done some research and talked to a few guys and from what I can tell, they are a Berg Cup, or Berg Cup style flare matched in to a BBS front bar, they are not a BBS type kit as they do not mold into any form of side skirt.
I think I'll just dump the funds from these straight to our SBR efforts, it will get us very close to the $4k target
What: BBS Front bar and Berg Cup style flares
Location: Orange NSW
Price: $450 ono

I have serious VAG issues.
yeah, the only MK1 there and it had these... the yard owner was nice enough to donate them to me, i asked for a few other bits but he didn't like the idea... but I think the golf is due for the crusher soon...
Looks like a Lester kit sold in the early 90's.
I think they incorporated a skirt too?
They did too,so wonder what they are ?
yep, got me stumped too!
The arches resolve themselves neatly so I'd say the skirts aren't absolutely essential to running them.
It would look odd if there was a big hole unfilled but they're a tidy design on their own.
I'd like to see them filled with some monster 13x11s
yep, they are their own unit, where as the BBS and Lester stuff has a skirt extension that is part of the flare, also the flare on the BBS and Lester stuff has more of a step in the radius, or are a squarer design - where these are a much smoother arch in both directions, you'll also find that they (BBS & Lester) have molded provisions for the plastic bumpers as well...
