This is a set of Ashley extractors to suit the shorter block 16v motors into a MK1. (Will not suit ABF)
I bought them second hand and they were rusty but looked OK.
When they came back from ceramic coating holes had developed where the pipes merge into the collector.
The ceramic coating prevents repair by welding. I've filled the valley with high temp RTV silicon that'll probably last a couple of years. One of the specialty exhaust epoxies would be better.
I made a matching 3 bolt flange which goes with these so you weld your own pipes downstream.
The plating will slow any further rusting, these should last for years with the occasional replacement of the silicon.
These would suit someone looking to finish off their 16v conversion who hasn't quite figured what to do with the exhaust yet or can't quite afford to import a set right now.
You'd be up for about $700-800 to import and ceramic coat a new set.
Asking price is $150
Pick up only from Boronia, Vic.
79 MK1 Golf Wreck to Race / 79 MK1 Golf The Red Thread / 76 MK1 Golf Kamei Race Car
7? MK1 Caddy
79 B1 Passat Dasher Project
12 Amarok
There can't be many people out there that could use these extractors? Apart from myself of course but I'm saving up for new pistons and a rebore for my 9a and I don't live anywhere near Boronia.
Good luck with the sale.
Cheers
Paul
