Milltek for Polo GTI 6R cat back resonated all stainless, excellent condition

Includes the Milltek cat back system and an 'extra' section that replaces the standard VW resonator. Milltek did not do a 'resonated' cat back for the 6R and the extra section (all stainless with 3" resonator) was made up by a local exhaust specialist. Has done less than 10,000ks on my previous 6R, still in excellent condition.

The Milltek cat back will 'bolt straight on' but if you want to replace the standard VW resonator you will probably need to get an exhaust specialist to fit - see last photo.

How loud? as fitted to my previous 6R it was not quiet but probably not loud enough to annoy your neighbors if you leave for work at 6.00am. My golfing mates claimed they could hear me coming before they could see me from the car park.

$690 plus postage, packaging and insurance, so probably around $80 extra based on online freight quotes to eastern states. Weight 12kg plus packaging.

For sale for around 2 weeks only, if not sold by then I will get a custom system made up for my 6C using the 2 mufflers. If I sell it will cost me close to $2,000 shipped for the new Milltek 6C resonated system due to be released in next 2 weeks or $2,000 plus for a German resonated Bastuck system.

Considering this, just finding out how much it's going to cost me to get a front pipe made up to match and the resonator deleted.

Out of curiosity why put in a resonator to a full exhaust, did you want it quieter?

Hi! When you say full exhaust the Milltek cat back system out of the box for the 6r has just one rear muffler which is straight through unlike the VW rear muffler which is very restrictive and baffled in at least 4 places. We tried the Milltek with just the rear muffler and to me and the perf exhaust fitter the noise level was "over the top" hence we added the small stainless resonator. The 6c Milltek will have a resi. for the non track version.

Note that the Milltek cat back normally joins straight on to the VW resi. I did not want that and yes I suspect given the large size of the vw res. it would be too quiet.

In most states I believe it's illegal to have an exhaust without resonator, just one thing you may want to avoid if you are young looking and hence get picked on by police.

I have arranged with my fitter this Sat morning to see if he can adapt the 6r to my new 6c so depending on the outcome it may not be for sale.

    Cheers

can you let me know the outcome for this. might be good for my Fabia RS.

I assume the 'normal' bolt on would slip onto the factory exhaust, and not have a flange like your one does?

Right right. Pretty sure in WA resonator thing isn't an issue but it does have to fall under a certain decibel limit. That said I don't care, louder the better for me.

By full exhaust I meant cat back system + front pipe but I understand now, I re-read the original post.

So basically milltek don't make a resonated system for 6r so you modified the pipe would normally be where the stock resonator is to be a 3" pipe with a little resonator. I see it now.

I might just get a custom stainless the whole way if noise is what I am after hahaha.

That would be the way to go for you, just a rear muffler. A milltek 6r cat back system + a length of stainless pipe to where my made up bit was flanged.

Correct regards slipping onto the factory exhaust. Not sure if this system will fit your car though, the centre section has the same part number MSSE 134 but the rear muffler part number is different although muffler looks the same.

I will let you know the outcome but I now have at least 2 other forum members interested. No initial interest which is why I decided to find out (booked for Saturday) if the 6R system will adapt to my 6C- rear muffler will fit but the section around the fuel tank may not because the exhaust 'tunnel' from motor back to first bend is offset slightly to drivers side on 6R and central on the 6C. Not sure if yours is offset?
