Thread: Group Buy / EOI new generation DNS head units (RNS-510 alternative)

  1. #391

My ans may just get installed and see if I like it enough to pull out of this ordeal, as its been 2 months now since I've made payment and its been nothing but delays after delays. If it gets into September with no end in sight that may just happen

Sorry about the delayed update guys, came down with the worst flu on Friday. Just getting a bit better now.

I just got off the phone with the supplier. So apparently the demo unit I have is an early one which has different hardware to the finalised unit, which may explain some of the software issues I'm having that are preventing me from making that video. In the meantime he will have software that should fix all the issues on Monday, and if this does not solve the problem for my unit he will send out a new sample unit to me right away. Through DHL express this would only take 3-4 days. Tuesday is the day that they will supposedly finalise everything and schedule for production, which will commence within 2 weeks.

In the meantime I did some negotiating and on top of the new free units up for raffle, everyone will receive a further $20 discount. Those who paid in full by direct deposit will need to send me their bank details or an alternative paypal account for me to refund the money, otherwise everyone else can simply take $20 off their remaining balance.

I hope that helps a bit with the situation but I understand everyone's impatience, and I apologise again for the delay.

Well some news is better than no news

So assuming that it's all go, 2 weeks, ish, from Tuesday (so to be safe, the week ending September 13), and then another 5-8 days to account for delivery from China to you to us? So we're looking at mid to late September for delivery, assuming their production gets up and running on finalised software/hardware?

$20 discount is nice, better than nothing

That's about right for a conservative estimate, and I would try my best to speed things up where possible.

About the same since it would leave via DHL express from the factory instead of coming to me first.

I assumed that the hardware was sitting in a warehouse waiting for small tweaks to be made to the software.

Can you confirm that the hardware units we are getting have not been built yet?

I'm currently weighing up the options, I can buy from LSQ Star for $375

They advised me two weeks ago that delivery would be mid September
They have always built to order, the hardware needs to be purchased in bulk somewhere in the thousands and just sit there waiting to be assembled. It only takes 2-3 days for small orders and a couple more days for bigger ones, they just queue production according to orders.

I don't know what information LSQ Star has been feeding you, but I have explained what they do and their level of service before. I also know for a fact they can't sell this unit for $375 without making losses - they don't even sell the ANS series for that low. AFAIK Audiosources hasn't even released prices for the DNS series to LSQ Star. They most likely were quoting you prices for ANS, and then at bulk price. If you take a look:

Aliexpress.com : Buy LSQ Star Car DVD Player for ANS810 Golf 6 ,Scirocco, Passat, with OPS/IPAS/Door status and phone number showed on the dashboard! from Reliable car dvd player for ANS810 golf6 suppliers on Shenzhen LSQ Star International Co., Ltd.

That's US $510 or AUD $560 for one and it's ANS-810, not DNS.
