May be something to do with the SD decoding issues Sandy mentioned although he would have to translate the error box for me!

Im running the latest firmware revision which I successfully flashed this afternoon.
Interesting error. It basically says memory is critically low, which should not happen at all with 512MB of RAM unless there is a memory leak in the SD playback. Were you playing FLAC or a very large file, perhaps?

Who was it that said they had the thing where the MFD screen would flick between SD and FM? I think it may have been kwalsh. I had that issue today. It doesn't effect anything at all, SD still plays back fine, the screen just flicks between SD and FM for about 30 seconds before going back to normal. It may have something to do with the CANBUS decoding fix they've applied (my guess is they've decreased the CANBUS polling rate, but that's just a guess).

To be honest, I still think the software is pretty immature, I wouldn't call it 'release ready', but then again professionally i'm a perfectionist haha.

Lot of the minor SD/iPod playback issues I still have.... they're not so much showstopping bugs as they are bugs that effect the users experience.

I've only driven my car a handful of times since updating but it's been very stable so far (even starting it up and slamming it straight into reverse, on the old firmware that killed it, works fine now). I had the SD/Nav stuttering bug on the old firmware, haven't noticed it yet, but i'm driving to work tomorrow (50km), so i'll give it a go and see how we go.

Also, who said they had the slow SD startup thing? I've had it too, takes about ~30s to load the SD card on startup, but once it's loaded it's very quick (even FLAC playback is significantly quicker).

Going to add and change a few things to the spreadsheet tonight, but I really should go to bed haha.

When you contact them and they say they don't want the unit with the different screen are you going to try to keep $100?
Man, we get it, you have some sort of vendetta against Sandy. Chill out. Stop being a potato. You got your refund. We know how you feel, just chill.

Each time I had the funny error window come up and it forces it to gps app and doesn't let you back to radio/sd/menu settings etc.

On the way home I didn't use the GPS at all and everything worked fine.

So for me, the radio/sd playback/video playback seems to be good (albeit a bit buggy) just the GPS doesn't work.
Perhaps us Aussies have less satellites for the GPS to pick up then the USA folk, as I definitely have Satellite pickup issues making the gps software useless.
If Sandys fix above doesn't work, i'd seriously suggest moving the GPS antenna, even slightly.

When I fitted an Eonon unit to my Prado, I originally had the GPS antenna setup just under the dash, pretty direct line of site, but it wouldn't lock on. It would find 1 satellite, and nothing else. I left it sit there for 2 hours and it wouldn't grab any more. I ended up moving the antenna 2cm (!!!) and voila, instant lock on to a solid 14 satellites. Something must have been blocking it or something, but I moved it a tiny bit and it made a world of difference.

For what it's worth, my DNS locks on instantaneously (even if I start it up and go straight to nav from cold start, it's locked on before iGo even loads fully), 14 solid satellites, and I used it for my entire 1000km road trip and it worked flawlessly. Other parts of the headunit (on the old firmware) may have had issues, but the GPS/iGo continued to work flawlessly.

Secondly I have already pointed out that in light of issues with the first 10 units I will allow people to cancel their orders without losing the $100 deposit even though originally this deposit was not refundable by this stage.

I haven't been able to contact the manager at Audiosources all day today but based on everyone's reports it seems pretty clear the screen is resistive. But as I have said, this initial batch already has final hardware, so unless the manager decides to drop another surprise on me, the final production unit which is slated for 12 December, will also have resistive screens.

As for mirroring, I have mentioned previously that Audiosources has developed a module that mirrors both Android and iPhones BUT without the ability to control it via the unit's own screen. I've asked them about future development of a mirroring module that can control the phone via the unit's screen, but the status of that is currently unclear. The originally proposed module was to be able to do this, but would have only been compatible with Android.

Those with GPS signal issues after firmware update, go to your GPS SD directory, in the Primo2 folder, and delete or rename the folder in there named "save". This resets your settings, including GPS baud settings, and allows Primo to rescan for correct values. You do lose settings and personalisations though.

It does appear that the white screen issue may be hardware-related, and we had someone with a seriously faulty unit which is being returned. The rest of the issues are software-related though and will be rectified. I have to admit I have not come across many of the reported software stability issues myself on my sample unit, but I've mostly been using radio and satnav. I have been on several road trips like this (with GPS and radio running) without incident so I assume there is something up with the SD decoding part of the firmware that is causing issues.

To be clear though if you have you are informed of the situation and you want a refund, just send me a message. I don't see why you have to wait. Your previous post said you wanted a refund if you were not receiving your order in the current batch, and I explained that you are, so if you still want to cancel you have to let me know. In any case, all the information is public here, I will be sending a message shortly, and I'll hold off the shipment until Saturday morning.

Have you performed the software update? It's getting a bit hard to keep track. If possible, please post your firmware version when you are describing any software issues. Stability issues were supposed to have been fixed in the latest update, again I have not come across these myself and some others have been saying they do seem fixed. As for GPS signal, please see what I said above in this same post regarding deleting / renaming the "save" folder.
+1 to the fact that the screen is very clearly resistive. Even on a physical level you can tell, resistive screens have 'give' in them (due to the conductive layer), and capacitive screens are almost always solid glass.

It'd be nice if AS where like, oh ****, oops, sorry, and was able to swap our units out with capacitive screens, but I won't hold my breath. Bit of a bummer, it was one of the features I was keen on the most.

    Also also, 2 questions:

What is this standby screen that cpkk is talking about? Heh.

    and

On the radio module, is there an auto search and save found stations function? Or is that not a feature yet implemented/you have to do it manually? Strange because every headunit i've ever used has this function, including my POS chinese RNS510 replica.

    .
Push the power button quickly (when it's running) and it puts it into standby mode.
The day, date and date are shown along the bottom of the screen.

The standby screen appears when you tap the power button when the unit is on.

The auto search and save function is the "Extras" button in the radio menu. Not sure why they called it this except this button existed in the RNS-510, but essentially that's your auto-search.

Ah. Thar you go. Yea I thought the extras button was strange. I pressed it and saw it start scanning but didn't see it save any presets so I got bored and moved on instead of waiting for it to finish haha.

Also, the google spreadsheet is a bit of a mess at the moment, but maybe it's me being an excel neatfreak haha. Will fix up the formatting and remove duplicates when I have time over the weekend. I should have been asleep an hour ago. In the meantime I've added some graphical/text bugs i've found.

Yeah I wish there was a better way to compile everything, and images / short videos would really be the best way to demonstrate bugs.

Sandy, have you been able to make heads or tails of all the issues/missing features so you can present to AS? Really would like transparancy (as you have always done) on what their response is to most of these issues.

I have sent a document to them, it doesn't incorporate all of the issues in the spreadsheet because some are dupes / related, while others are rather uncertain. The document is in Chinese obviously since their software developers and manager do not speak English. I've been sending this document to them periodically as I get firmware updates anyway, I just combined what I had with the spreadsheet. They should be familiar with my documents now, and I notice a few issues from it get fixed every firmware update, but they don't give me a detailed issue-by-issue response.
