Just so I am clear, does anyone know the cables we were suppose to have? Sandy stated that this unit would fit all of the OEM equipment without the need of harnesses. I thought the shark fin antenna, FM antenna, etc would plug right in.
2012 GTI 4-Door, Autobahn, DSG, Black GTI
Mod List: 35% Tint | APR Stage 2 | APR DownPipe | APR Intake | Depo LED Tails | P3 Gauge | Misc VAG tweaks | Still growing!
In sandy's first post it states that: "Accessory cables (line out / in, iPod / USB adapters, GPS antenna etc) are also included."
Also
I opt in for the hd-tv tuner which says:
"HD DVB-T module (for digital TV, antennas included): $95."
However I did not receive an antenna for this.
Will be waiting on sandy's response before I install this into my car.
Hopefully we can all have our issues resolved before the new year. I'm sure Sandy will be just as eager to resolve these issues as we are as this is the level of service which he will provide with a $700+ unit as opposed to the other inferior Chinese units out there.
One day to go and hopefully you will get all the answers you've been waiting for

Yes, and hopefully a new firmware to test with.

Yeah id say there's a good chance there's a new firmware revision by now. With any luck someone from AS has been reading this and passing on the feedback. Im not holding my breath though... lol...

Anyone who wants to cut their losses and offload their unit, PM me. I'll pay $185 + postage.
Thanks
Ok guys I will try to clarify a few things. I just came back this afternoon and was going to check everything tomorrow but looks like there are way too many messages to ignore.
First of all you can ignore the cut warranty void sticker. Warranty will be honoured regardless of this.
Secondly I don't intend to go back on anyone's warranty - if you have a problem with your unit, you can return it to me, period. I don't charge restocking fee, the only cost is returning the unit. In a standard warranty the consumer is responsible for returning the unit, this has always been the case in Australia and I would imagine most places in the world and especially true for online stores. For local extended warranties the return postage is also covered, as I have mentioned from the beginning.
As for Hotbmwm3, I won't post up the PM conversation but he asked for a refund after the initial order was already placed with Audiosources and production has begun. I indicated from very early on that the deposit is non-refundable once order is placed with the supplier. He did indicate that he will return the unit for a refund if he did not receive a unit by 1 Nov but I was not aware that he also wanted to claim the deposit back. When he made that intention clear I said that I actually know of a person who wanted to jump in the initial batch but has just missed out, and if he takes over the order I will refund him the deposit, if not then I will look for another person and I'm quite confident I will be able to find one. Apparently this was not good enough, even though I sorted it out and gave a full refund after a few days, in between accusations of misleading and deceptive conduct. I don't believe I acted unreasonably in any way and Hotbmw3 if you disagree I invite you to post the entire PM stream up and let the others decide who was being unreasonable.
As for my business - I have a registered ABN number and I trade under ZX Audio. I am operating as a sole trader. There has never been a requirement to register a business name in fact you will find a large number of businesses with registered ABN numbers only and no registered business name, whether the number is registered in their own name or their trading name. And yes, the GST turnover is $75,000 and I plan to only register if I go over this limit. This also keeps price of the unit down for as long as possible. If you find this to be an issue then all I can say is that it's the 21st century, there are people with web and eBay stores with a lot less than even this, but it's your decision in the end. I trade my business on reputation and I can honestly say that I've always done my best for a customer, which is a lot more than most retail stores offer with their off the shelf products.
Now for the issues - I am told that the latest software fixes the random freeze / slow unit issue although the technician is a bit vague on the white screen part for those USA / Canadian customers. I will test out the firmware and upload it tonight for everyone to try - supposedly this is quite stable firmware and should fix most of the big issues, and we will see how many smaller issues it fixes. I'm a bit confused personally as my own early sample unit has frozen up on me once but other than that has been quite smooth, and I would have expected the initial batch to only be more stable. I am interested to see that spreadsheet of issues and add my own feedback to it, though of course in China they don't have access to Google services so I probably have to patch them in every once in a while by manually sending them an updated spreadsheet.
Regarding cables, Audiosources have said that they can now provide the cables on request (I'll be making sure I request them for all the future orders). I will also get extra cables in the next shipment to send to anyone else who needs them - please send me a request via PM (just wait till I clear out my inbox) because anyone with factory USB / Aux cables obviously don't need these. As for HDTV antennas, again I simply received no communication from Audiosources about any change except that they are using a new tuner module. It now appears they didn't ship the antennas with the modules, even though they have always done so with the old modules... My sales rep has said she will send these out with the next shipment so I can send them out free of charge to the customers.
I will begin going through my messages and emails and deal with all requests to withdraw from the group buy. The second batch of units has indeed arrived while I was away and I will get them shipped ASAP.
The final version of the unit is slated to begin production 12 December so let's hope Audiosources sticks to their timeline and gets the issues fixed.
