How about bluetooth streaming, can it do that? If so what's the audio quality like?

Thanks for the reply, how would you rate the streaming sound quality, as good as CD, as good as an FM broadcast etc?

I've never had bluetooth in my mk5 hence the questions, my wife has a brand new Polo with factory bluetooth and her streaming quality is crap (sounds like an old transistor radio lol).

I know AS should really supply us with all the cabling for USB and AUX, but for a more 'OEM' fit, would this adapter work for mk5 as well as mk6? My mk5 Jetta doesn't come with factor usb or aux, but in the center console there appears to be a tab that is the same shape and size as the adapter I've linked to...

    edit: more information

Nice neat design, I don't know where this would fit in a mk5 though.

I think the Aux is normally in the glovebox and on a mk5, how bloody inconvenient!

Man that looks nice. Wish it fit the buttons where the traction control button is.

sorry ... meant to say mk5! I'll try to take a picture of what I'm talking about. In the center console where the handbrake comes out from.

On UK Mk5 cars the MDI and Aux in was located in the central cubby bin behind the handbrake.

On my AUS Mk5, the blanking plate is in the glovebox.

That looks great! Hopefully it (or something similar) will work with the DNS! Thats what I would like. something nice & OEM looking. I'm wondering if it will fit in the space in the glove box. Can't remember if I have the blank on the centre console for it on mine. I'll check this afternoon after work.

Yeah it should fit there just fine. You'll need the VW specific cable for the back of it though as it uses those locking auto connectors rather than a standard USB plug.

Do an eBay search as I found quite a few designed to fit there. They have neat little covers on them too for when they're not in use.

I also found a DIY guide where someone to an old USB-PS2 Microsoft keyboard adaptor and a dremel to cut a slot through one of the installed blanks. He then soldered a standard USB cable on the back to create his own version.
